Annual Christmas Parade
Floats, marching bands and other entertainers parade through downtown on this first Wednesday after Thanksgiving, welcoming the Christmas season. Immediately following the parade is the Tree Lighting Ceremony. A short performance by the Opelika High School band and choir starts the ceremony that ends with the lighting of the tree on South Railroad Avenue.

Christmas in a Railroad Town
This event is a must for the whole family. Downtown turns into a winter wonderland of activities, refreshments, pictures with Santa and shopping. The highlight of the evening is taking a trolley or hayride through the renowned Victorian Front Porch Tour.

Annual Discover Downtown Dinner

Always held at the beginning of the calendar year, this dinner allows Main Street to present awards for the Best Façade Enhancement from the previous year as well as recognize someone who is noticed for their Commitment to Downtown.

All events take place in downtown Opelika.
